Can God hear you if you pray inside an elevator? I saw a lady today on the elevator who had really worn out shoes and a purse that ought to have been tossed into the trash long ago. I looked down at myself and saw my relatively inexpensive clothing that was still in good shape, and I silently gave thanks for what I *do* have. Then I remembered that you can't use a cell phone in an elevator, so it made me wonder if the same thing applied to God.

They say that God's everywhere, but those elevator shafts are pretty well sealed off from the outside world. You suppose he sits just outside the door, and gathers up the silent prayers of people inside as they step out? Kinda makes you wonder. If he was actually inside, then how could he be helping the people who aren't in there?

This kind of thinking hurts my head.
