This is kind of exciting...

There's this awards ceremony for PACE that I'm going to at UMKC tonight, and as I graduated Summa Cum Laude with Departmental Honors in December, I'll be getting some sort of certificate or something for the departmental honors part of that tonight.

But here's the Really Cool News: I got a phone call from the Director of PACE yesterday, and he explained to me that every year they choose one person to be their Outstanding Student of the Year, and I was in the running for that. Yay! :D He talked to me a little bit about what else I've got going on in my life, and said they'd be voting on the candidates that afternoon, so I don't have a clue if I've gotten the award or not. But as in the last 2 years, I've had a parent die, gotten a divorce, raised 2 elementary-aged kids, worked at Fest, co-coached two soccer teams, ran the soccer region's website, and held a full time job as well, I'm thinking that I stand a good chance. If someone else can beat that, they definitely deserve to win this thing, heh.

He didn't say what goes with the award...at the least I'd imagine a cool certificate or something. But I'll find out tonight, and I'm excited to possibly see some of the people I'd had classes with. Should be a fun time, I think. I'll update on it tomorrow. :)
