I got a call from the landlord last night, wanting to know when I'd be moving, as he had people who wanted to look at the house. Saturday, I told him...I'm moving mostly on Saturday. Oh, says he, I told the people they could look at it on Saturday. Gah. So I told him to just let me know what time they'll be here and I'll make sure they can get around through the maze of boxes to see things. I figured I could use Friday night after the kids left to get the place looking decent. Shortly thereafter, the mother of one of Brenna's friends called, to invite Brenna to the daughter's birthday party on Saturday, and she'd pick her up at 10:30. Which means that I won't have Friday night to myself after all, as Brenna will now spend the night there with me.

Jesus-H-Christ...can things not go smoothly for once???
