Yay!!

Brenna came in from her Holland trip last night...her internal clock decreed it was 5am, heh.  She looks a little spacey and overwhelmed, but a few good nights of sleep should fix that.  ;)

We went out for a bite to eat so that we could hear all about her trip (she's going to spend a few days with her dad before she comes home-home), and while they were promised they'd play 4 games, she actually got to play in 6 games (her team made it to the semi-finals, yay!), and she scored 3 times!  Woohoo!!  Twice against Dutch teams, and once against another American team...on the American goal, she even headed it in!  YES!  That's my girl!!  :D

They didn't have much time to socialize with kids from other countries, but she trained a bunch with the Holland coaches and it sounds like she's improved in just that short amount of time. Yippee!!

In other news, our backyard is just about complete, sans the planting of a million plants that have yet to arrive in the mail.  But the borders are all done, and we bought stepping stones last night, and staked out where the arbor will go.  Next weekend we'll hopefully find a way to get rid of the pile of dirt, and then we can put together Sasha's doghouse.  It's been a busy weekend!  :D

And in still more news, it looks like we'll not be doing Chess Match after all.  The more Chris thought about it, the less he wanted to commit to be there every single day (nomatterwhat), so I think he might see if he can be of any assistance working with people to teach them to fight, but then will call it a day.  The boy really DOES deserve some time to rest.  :)
