I think they missed the point...

Today at work we had a cookie exchange. I brought in some of my signature fudge instead of cookies. When it was time to go around to all the platters of homemade cookies, what do I see but at least 7 different packages of store-bought cookies. Two were from the WalMart bakery, two were from some other bakery (they were in white cardboard boxes), and three were packages of things like Pecan Sandies, Oreos, and the like.
...the hell?
Yeah, I get it that it's all in a fun spirit, and I honestly have no qualms about sharing my goodies with people who maybe don't bake, but why sign up for a cookie exchange if all you're going to offer is stuff that anyone can pick up at a local store, already made for them? Bleh.
I only grabbed truly homemade goodies, and as I'd brought in 4 dozen pieces of fudge, I know lots of my fudge will be set out for people to munch on this afternoon, which is cool. It just kind of annoyed me that people didn't want to make an effort, when so many others honestly did. >:(
