Brenna did great!

So last night, after several postponements due to the weather, Brenna's show finally hit the stage for its one-night-only performance.  She was GREAT, and I say that in a completely unbiased manner.  Having been a stage-teen myself, it was easy for me to pick out the kids who felt at home up there, and I mentally made notes of which kid slurred through her lines, which kid sounded like a goat when she sang (and folks, I'm not being mean by saying that...she really did sound like a goat), which kids were REALLY good, which kids I could foresee continuing into theatre as time goes on, and which kids were just dreading their time up there.  Some kids were really talented, and others not so much.  Brenna didn't have a lot of up-front time in the dance numbers, so I can't speak to how she did in those, and she didn't have any singing solos, but she did have a number of speaking parts, and she came out loud and clear (without yelling).  She looked amazing (in their requisite tee-shirt and jeans)...I'd done what I could to give her makeup tips over the phone (if the show had been on the weekend, I'd planned to totally stage-makeup her), and she looked beautiful without looking too made up.  *squee!*

I wuv my kid.  ;)

As for me,  it's life as normal...work, home, LAWL still, the usual.  

A reminder that the jewelry party is coming up next Tuesday...so far I have angelbedwell and mljm coming, each with kids in tow, and also dwimmerlaik.  MIght have my friend Jessica come, but she's not been answering her email so I'll call her to make sure.  Any other takers?  Give me a yell if you need the details again!  :D
