Yesterday I took the day off and took my kids down to their new schools so that we could get the paperwork and stuff all taken care of. I still have a few things to turn in but most of it is done and out of the way, woo! Brenna stayed at the school for 3 hours while the 5th graders went over to the 6th grade side of the school so they'd have a clue what they'll be doing next year. She's more excited than ever to move now. :D

I found out over the weekend that three drug houses were busted in my current neighborhood in the last month and that the crime rate north of the river (where I currently reside) is growing faster than anywhere else in the city. Apparently they're worried about that area turning into an area like the northeast section of KC, so they're working hard to crack down on all things crime related. The fact that the crime rate is still growing in spite of that has ME more excited than ever to move as well.

Aaron, the boy who's staying with us during the school weeks (because his mom has issues with her landlord and decided to move but found out too late that she couldn't transfer her son to the district down south where she's staying with her sister and so in order to get him to school every day she'd have to leave way early and she'd already asked me if he could stay at my house and eat dinner every day until she could pick him up at 8pm so I just said he may as well stay the night during the week, to which she cried happy tears and said thank you) is a real sweetie. And he listens and helps, so having him around isn't so bad once you get over the whole thing about having 2 boys who are always together and are bound to fight from time to time. I guess though, that it's better than having 2 girls around each other all the time. Girls hold hellish grudges, ugh.

I think tonight that I will work on packing up my room. I've got most of Connor's room done, and just have his closet to complete. My room doesn't have much to pack up outside of the clothes. I just need to get some more boxes. So many of the ones I'd accumulated had gone off with the leftover garage sale stuff, so now I'm starting my collection over.

As for work...it's an interesting experience when your team of 10 turns into a team of 3 and you're stuck having to decipher the bugs that other people logged. Supposedly the development team has corrected all the bugs we entered this year, but as people vary in how they log the bugs, I don't have a clue what I'm supposed to verify in this latest release. *sigh* I'll be one of the senior members of the team moving forward, so hopefully we can get some structure around the bug-logging with anyone new who comes in. That would be good. (I had originally typed how I would have to behead people if they logged vague descriptions in the future, but then cut that out for fear that some HR-person will freak out and think I was serious. Yes, I'd be pissed, but wouldn't actually behead anyone.)

So...I'm back at work now, and obviously am working hard at the aforementioned bug-verification, as I've succeeded in typing for about 10 straight minutes. Bleh. Guess I'll actually end this and go do some work. At least until I check my Friends' Friends lists and find some silly meme to complete and post. :p

Yeah, yeah...I'm going now.
