An assortment of things...

We still haven't unpacked from White Hart...we got home and dealt with the puppy, then the next morning, the normal work-week began again, with soccer practices every night, puppy-socializations to work with, grocery shopping to get done, yada yada. I open the door to the garage and see everything just laying there, then I sigh and close my eyes and wish that it would all clean up all by itself. Unfortunately, it doesn't, so I close the door to the garage and tell myself that I'll deal with it tomorrow. And now it's Wednesday. Heh.
I've got to give a presentation for the Kansas City Quality Assurance Association tomorrow at noon...the PowerPoint for which I completed a long time ago, but I've yet to practice it out loud. And it's going to be wicked hot tomorrow, and I'll have to be in hose and heels...and my car has no A/C. Ick. Hopefully I'll be able to use the Escape, though, provided it's cleaned out enough to use. :p
The puppy's doing pretty well, considering her new environment scares her to death. She's still freaking out about going up all the stairs, but last night she at least came into the house on her own, and did go up and down the lowest of the steps without much prodding. Stubborn girl. It's a good thing she's so darn cute. ;)
The cats aren't happy about her arrival, but she spends enough time outside that they do at least come out to the kitchen to eat, yay.
I really need to take a day off to get some things done at home. Both Chris and I are of the sort who LOVE a clean house, and right now it looks like a whirlwind has hit it. This weekend we have to go to a wedding that Chris will be the Best Man for, so last night I picked up a semi-cute outfit to wear. Hooray for finding clothes that fit. :)
Work's...work. Or not really. I'm assigned to 3 projects, but all 3 are at a standstill for the moment, so that means I sit here for 8 hours with basically nothing to do. I'd volunteer for a 4th project, but then would just get rolling on that when the other 3 would wake back up. Bleh. The good news is that my boss is interviewing my partner in crime from my old job today, and I'm PRAYING he'll be offered a job and will accept. That would make my life here so much happier. :D
I haven't had a chance to get back on my new bike yet...that's something I'll need to do on my own time, at my own pace, if I'm ever to overcome the fear of it. And I won't feel comfortable about spending time on it until the house is clean (yes, I realize that might sound weird, but I also bet that there are some of you who will nod in understanding.)
Gah. Life is good...just way too busy for me right now, especially at the end of such a fun time as White Hart was.
*sigh*
I better get back to looking busy. ;)
