Yesterday morning, as I was letting Sasha back in the house from her morning pee, she came charging through the door after a cat, and got yanked back by the nylon covered steel tie that she was chained up with (she's taken to uprooting the plants again, so we keep her tied in the center of the yard when she's out).  Unfortunately for me, just as she barrelled through the door and slammed against the length of the tie, the tie itself slammed against the inside of my left ankle, exactly where the head of the pin sticks out of the bone (a result of a car accident when I was 19.)  Tears sprang to my eyes.  It HURT.  I shook it off, and after about 5 minutes it stopped hurting so much, though a bruise is working on making its way to the surface, and if you even just run your finger along the skin there, my ankle shrieks in pain.  Nice.  It'll go away eventually.

This morning, Chris and I got up early to take the dog for a brisk walk.  The sidewalks around here haven't been cleared, and although some of the snow has melted, most of them are just down to ice now.  I kept to the street for the most part, but had to traverse one stretch of sidewalk that runs along a busy road.  When we turned onto the next street, I wanted to get off the sidewalk as we were now going uphill and I kept sliding back, so I stepped carefully over the snow and onto the street...where I promptly stepped on more ice and fell, landing sideways on my right knee.  *jaw drops*

That time, I DID cry, for a whole 15 seconds maybe, as I had felt my kneecap slide when I hit the ground.  Chris offered to go get the car but we were a mile from home as it was, so I said no and decided to walk it off.  My knee, I think, will be fine.  It's swollen and my jeans are rubbing against it when I walk, so I'm trying not to walk too much, but I do know that I need to walk SOME or it'll just tighten up and I'll be in more pain.  But OUCH.  I noticed when driving to work that my right arm was hurting when I shifted gears, and I think I must have jammed it a little when I fell as well.  It too will be fine in a day or so.

But today?  I'm all ouch-y.  Between the deeply bruised ankle, the swollen knee, and the jammed arm, I'm REALLY thankful it's not that time of the month or I'd have cramps on top of all of it, heh.  Tomorrow I have my annual dr visit to review all my girly bits and make sure they'll all still working fine...hoo-boy, can't wait for THAT fun (ugh)...I'm hoping the doc doesn't think I'm an abused woman from all the bruises he'll see on my lower half.  ;p

I think, though, it's now time to take some more Tylenol.  :D
