Gaaacckkk!!!

So, I was just sitting here peacefully at my desk after lunch, getting caught up on emails, when I heard a faint "tic" on the desk next to me. I turned my head to look, and there...sat...A ROACH.

GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

I hate roaches. Absolutely HATE them. I can handle spiders and snakes and all sorts of creepy-crawlies, but NOT roaches. And there sat one on my desk. I suddenly had visions of gallons of roaches pouring out of the ceiling (note that the ceiling tile just to the west of my desk was kind of off-balance, allowing just enough room for said roach to crawl out and across the ceiling before landing so graciously next to me), to cover me in their crunchy bodies and wriggling legs. **UGH!**

I grabbed a discarded styrofoam cup from my trash basket and carefully covered the roach with it, and then ran to go get a guy to take care of it for me. He led me on a search for one of the admin assistants, who then sent an email to the people who are in charge of the building, so that they would know that the roaches are trying to Take Over The Building.

*shudders*

The roach is gone, and I have hosed down my entire desk with some sort of window cleaner that is green in color, that bills itself as a Special Industrial Formula, so I think I'm okay now. Oh, and the guy came and fixed the ceiling tiles, so hopefully the family members of the roach can't come seek their revenge on me very easily.

But I used to live in Florida, and I know how sneaky those roaches can be. Anyone who's ever lived there, will understand exactly what I mean.

Ick, ugh, ack. Blarghhhhhhhhhhhhh!

So what happened with your thumb?

I cut it off. Well, okay, only part of it. ;p

It's healing pretty well...most of the middle section of the part that was cut off has sealed itself back onto my thumb, but the edges are kind of sticking up. I slept with it just loosely covered last night so it could get some air and this morning it looked pretty good. I'm just being careful with it, so it doesn't get hit or anything, but it's not bothering me all that much anymore. :)

You know how you can take a vegetable peeler and scrape off the edge of a potato or carrot or something? That's basically what I did to my thumb. Just sliced off a good section of the edge of it. I wouldn't recommend that you try it as a hobby, though, as it's really not so much fun.
