It was great, of course, but is a bit of a blur at the moment...

Some highlights and/or things I DO remember...

When we picked up Penny (the lamb) on Friday, she had the runs. This made for quite the messy car ride to the faire site.  When we got there, Chris let Penny and I out at the spigot at the corner of the pasture, so that I could give her a bath, but Penny wanted nothing of the sort, and it took Charles in his truck, one of his helpers, and me to run her down, with the helper-guy actually tackling her to get her back.  Heh.  I checked with him later and he wasn't sore, so that's good.  I worry about things like that.  So anyhow, we got her under control and I gave her a bath, supervised by [profile] billthetailor. (No, not supervised, really...he stopped by to watch and we had a nice talk as I plunged my arms elbow-deep into a bucket of poopy sheep-water.)  ;p  He helped walk her back down to the camping area, and visited with Chris and they discussed tights and whatnot.  We really need to get over to his place and get Chris re-measured for new tights.  *mental note*

As it turns out, and as I learned from Penny's owner when we went to drop her off last night, the cause of the runs was the heat.  I guess all of his sheep are a bit messy on the back end, but I'm glad it wasn't because she'd actually been sick.  Just the heat. Whew.   I made sure to sit a lot this weekend, and to allow her time to rest and nap in the shade, and she actually even learned to drink from my cup, so her water intake was fairly good.  I found out as well, that she adores dill pickles, hah!  Anyhow, she did improve as the weekend went on, and soon enough was back to her regular, non-stop eating.  She's becoming a bit of a stubborn teenager, I think, though, for there were several times that she just didn't want to follow me this weekend, and instead had to be led around.  She never went running off again like she'd done on Friday, but she'd find a patch of grass that was particularly good, and would just insist on staying there.  Brat.  I'm really going to miss her when this is all over.  *tears*

When Chris awoke on Sunday, he could hardly swallow at all.  I don't know if he's run into a bug or if it's new allergies, or if it's due to sleeping in the chilly night air...whatever it is, he's miserable.  I ran into [personal profile] brotherwilliam as I was feeding the horses some carrots prior to my shower, and asked if he knew if Di had any tea and honey, that I might take to Chris.  Bless his heart, he even started up the teapot as I ran to get my shower.  :)  I took the tea back to Chris, who drank it down gratefully, and soon enough he was well enough to at least begin the Faire day.

[profile] fyereye and [profile] petey1980 joined us this weekend, and I hope that they'll be back next weekend as well, because I so adore those two.  They came with us to the sheep dairy when we returned Penny last night, and partook of some sheep milk (delicious) and cheese and fudge and such.  We bought some of everything to take home, and stored it all in our cooler for the return trip, but forgot to get it out of the cooler when we got back to KC, so they're now at home without their milk and cheese.  :(  It's all safe, of course, and is sitting at home in our freezer.  Hopefully we can get it to them this week, because I believe Beth wanted to see how she did with the milk before possibly buying more next weekend.

On the way home last night, I began coughing.  Seems I've come down with a bit of something myself.  Not good, for we have one more weekend to go.  I'm babying myself with cough drops and the like, and thus far this morning, seem to be fighting it off very well.

We had great crowds on Saturday, and it seemed slower on Sunday, which, again, was expected, but we did have more than the first weekend.  And what I found amazing, really, was that we still had families coming in for the first time at around 5:00 pm on Sunday.  Huh.

Joining us on Sunday, was [profile] seer_of_athenaand her family. She added a great twist to the storyline, and it was wonderful to see her again. I hope the kids had fun while they were out there. :)

And lastly (for now), the moon looked like an orange slice last night as we drove home.  God bless Chris for getting us home safely...at times I'd wake up and see him driving with his head out the window, just trying to stay awake.  When it finally hit me that he really was That Tired, I opened my window as well and sang along loudly with the Monster Ballad cd that was playing.  "I guess eeeeeeveryyyyy rosssse has its thorn....I guess evvvvvery night has its dawww-aw-aw-awn...I guess evvvvery cowboy sings a sad, sa-ad sowwwwng....eeeevvvv-ery rose has its thorn...."  I think it helped.  I really do love that man.  :)

I'm sure there's more to report, but as I'm running on just about 5 hours of sleep, will end this for the moment.  I'm glad work is fairly empty today, because I'm sincerely doubting that much of anything will get done.  :p
