Oh, right, it's coming from my wallet.  :p

Got word from the car dealership last night...the A/C compressor has locked up and actually caused the coil and clutch to MELT.  Freaking MELT.  :o  Which of course means, that the car will need an all-new A/C system, to the tune of roughly $1600.  Add to that $89 for dealing with a radio/door lock reprogram issue, $26 for a clamp to fix the rattling heat shield, and $12 for the MO inspection (it passed at least), plus labor for much of the above, plus tax, and we were looking at a pre-tax bill of over $1700.  AND, the car is 15,000 miles past its 90k maintenance dealy, that includes taking apart the whole flipping car, brakes included, replacing a zillion and one belts and every drop of fluid in the car, rotating and aligning the tires, yada yada, all of which costs roughly $700, assuming they don't find anything else wrong that needs to be fixed.  So, since she was gonna be in the shop for awhile anyway, and would be draining my bank account ANYWAY, what the hell, add on the maintenance thing.  Oh, and just for my own info, Mr. Car-Man, what all's entailed with fixing the 3 door dings on the passenger side door?  Oh, you have a guy who comes in to do that on Fridays?  Sure, add that to the list as well, why not?  Might as well rip the giant duct-tape-like bandaid off all at once, hey?  *sigh*

So when I get my car back, it's basically going to be like new.  Somehow I'm finding that to be a small consolation at the moment, though I'm sure I'll enjoy it when the time comes.  The Car Man said that I could reasonably expect to get 300,00-400,000 miles out of this car when all is said and done, so hopefully it'll be worth it.

I hope the kids don't mind a month of eating only ramen noodles, heh.

Oh goodness! Now listen young lady, there are places you can go to get food, so the young un's don't have to do with (WAY too much sodium) Ramen noodles. Sides, those things are just yuck covered in flavor. If you'd like for me to do some research on a cool thing called Angelfood ministries and see if there's one in your area, I will. These kind folks ask very little in return, they do charge a bit for their food, but it's well worth it. 25.00 buys close to 60.00 or more in groceries, and they have a soft spot for children. So do NOT go without food, ok? If I have to I'll ship a care package up there. What the heck am I doing with 6 boxes of mac and a whole jar of Neutella when I hate Neutella?

Heh, thanks, you guys. Really, we'll be okay, and I promise not to only eat ramen noodles. I promise. It's all good though, and I love you both for your concern! :)
