It was a lovely weekend.

Finally, a weekend that balanced Busy with Rest, hooray! :) *happy sigh* It's been forever since we've had one of these...
Friday afternoon, we picked up Brenna from choir camp at her new school and headed over to the KCRF site for Media Party, where we saw lots of people we've not seen in a long time. It was lovely. I think the cast this year has lots of good energy, and I'm really looking forward to this year's run. It should be FUN!
Saturday morning had me running all over the place: Brenna to choir camp at 8:30, then back home; Connor to soccer practice at 9:30, then back home; picking Connor UP from soccer at 10:30, then back home. In between all this, I got my friend's peasant costume all hemmed up (as this is her first year, she wasn't up for the expense or perceived discomfort of a bodice, so all I had to make for her was a chemise and bloomers and two skirts...it seems to me that she'll be half-dressed, but this is what she wanted and she seems pleased with the result...). When I got bored with that, I took the motorcycle out for a spin...went farther than I ever had before...a whole 3 miles, heh. But I got her up to 30 MPH, and into 3rd gear, and even went on a major road, so they were big baby steps for one day.
Back out at 4pm to pick Brenna up, then over to a friends' son's birthday party where we enjoyed great food and the kids had a dip in the pool, then back home to get cleaned up for the choir camp concert (OMG, the kids sounded WONDERFUL...I can't wait to see how they sound after a year working with this teacher!), then back home to let Brenna pack for a sleepover, then back out to take Brenna to the sleepover, then Chris and I ran to DQ for ice cream and some hand-holding time, then off to his dad's to pick up some movies, then dropped more movies off at Blockbuster, then FINALLY back home where we settled down with Connor to watch RV (The Robin Williams flick)....very funny. :)
Sunday morning was calm...I got re-started on a new bodice...it'll be reversible in a black and gold fabric...I realize black doesn't comply with the rules, but dangit, it was just one of those materials that you sometimes see and say, To hell with the rules, I just plain WANT this!!! I'm sewing some trim on it before piecing it together...usually I sew it all up and THEN add the trim, so we'll see how this works doing it the other way around. I may just opt to not make it reversible...dunno yet. Anyhoo, it's so pretty...I hope it turns out as nice as it appears in my head. :p
Headed out for lunch at Wendy's and then made a Sam's Club run around 1:00, then back home so Chris could continue working in the yard. He's in the process of planting some trees and digging holes for an arbor he's building...hopefully the posts for the arbor can get sunk tonight. Ran out a little later to get a few more things at WalMart, then looked through the Sunday paper, made dinner, baked some banana bread, and at last settled down to watch Under the Tuscan Sun. Chick flicks rule. :)
Got a good night's sleep, and now am back at work. I love the feeling you get when you can finally cross things off your list of things that need to get done. Tonight's goal? Umm...*thinks*...maybe I will vacuum. That would be a good thing to do. And clean the bathrooms. Eventually I'll get the house back to looking nice again! :D
