Shameless plug

So...one of my friends is a stay-at-home-mom, who dabbles in a variety of direct sales businesses (Passion Parties, Avon, etc). She ran into a brand new candle company that sells triple-scented, soy candles (either with wicks, for burning, or wickless, for use with candle warmers) in something like 180 different scents. Kind of crazy, when you read over the scent list, really.
Because this is a new company, and I mean NEW, as in, maybe a few weeks old, they're running a signup promotion right now where you can sign up for free. There's no restriction on where you sell...you can eBay candles if you want to, or just order for yourself...and from what I've seen so far, the prices are very reasonable. So what the hell, I signed up. It was free!
The more I read about this company, the more excited I'm getting about getting my hands (and nose) on some of these. No word yet on if they're GOOD candles, heh, but a free signup lets me sample these things at a discount, and if I don't like it, well, I'm not bound by any contract to stick around. :p
If you're interested in checking it out, just go here: http://www.sweetcupcakecandles.com/hdsqrl/ and click on the "our Opportunity" link at the top of the page. A little window toward the bottom of the screen will give you some info, and there's a link at the bottom of that that will take you to the sign-up form.
*shrugs*
I love good-smelling candles, so what the heck? It's free! :)
Oh, just a note...parts of the site aren't currently working...something happened with their server that's causing the owner to have to rebuild the whole thing from scratch. *sad*

Date: 2006-09-06 02:35 pm (UTC)It's worth a try, as you say, and I saw nothing in the terms and conditions that seemed odd or unusual. There are downline bonuses that can be earned, but that is also the case for Avon, Mary Kay, Tupperware, and many other direct-sales companies, all of which have been around for a number of years. (In a past life, I sold Avon, as did my mother before me.)
We'll see.
